Jericho Resources, Inc. prepares third successful ex-offender grant application.  (November 20, 2012)

St. Charles Youth & Family Services has been awarded a $1 million Project JUMP START grant to provide employment, education, and social services for youth and young adults who have been involved with the juvenile justice system, but have not been convicted of a state or federal law as an adult.  The nonprofit will partner with the local Workforce Investment Board and county juvenile justice system to help 300 participants turn their lives around over a 26-month period.

Eligible youth and young adults will be able to receive a wide array of services, including:

  • Case Management/Career Planning
  • Tutoring
  • G.E.D. Preparation
  • Mentoring
  • Restorative Justice Community Service
  • Financial Literacy
  • Job Readiness
  • Occupational Skills Training
  • Employment
  • Employment Retention
  • Assistance with Admission to Vocational School, Apprenticeship, College, and/or Military Service

The $1 million grant is made possible through the U.S. Department of Labor and Southwest Key Programs.
